Bring out the entire family August 14-15th to North Avenue Beach to enjoy the largest spectator event in the United States! The Chicago Air and Water Show takes place over our magnificent lakefront and you can gaze at the many planes, including the Navy’s Blue Angels, as they soar through the sky. The Blue Angels serve as role models and good-will ambassadors for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and they have been wowing audiences since 1946. The U.S Parachute Army Golden Knights Team will also be present and jumping from airplanes at 12,500 feet and plunging towards the lakefront at speeds of 120 mph. The Golden Knights have participated in more than 14,000 shows in all 50 states and 48 countries; which have made them the most successful U.S. Department of Defense sports team. There are also water demonstrations starting at 11am. For many lakefront residents, this time of year gives their home a special amenity, often offering spectacular views of the show right from the comfort of their home.
